Winter Update 2022

Holiday Times

We wanted to share an update and give you a preview of 2023.

First, we want to thank everyone for your support this holiday season. We know that our deadlines are earlier than most. Making things by hand just takes more time. It means a lot to us that you chose to shop with us and other small businesses. We are on track to get everyone their bag that ordered before the Holiday Deadline.

Reminder: We will be closing up shop for the last two weeks of December. Ordering will be turned off.

For those that missed the deadline we have limited backstock which you can see on our site. Just click the product page and color you want and see if there is a number next to it. These are updated in real time. If you are confused you can always get in touch with us and we'll help you out. Otherwise, we are now accepting orders for our January production schedule through 12/18.

Changes to the Ordering System

We heard you loud and clear. You want us to keep production in house and don't wan't lead times to exceed 6 weeks. We thought long and hard about how best to do this. We considered product drops, only selling what was in stock, reducing colors or amount of design options, and even having designs available on a rotating basis.

So we are going to try an experiment. (To be clear this is for non-Holiday season ordering).

Starting January the first week each month will be the order period. We have averaged out our monthly capacity and will turn ordering off when we hit that number. Then following 3 weeks we will make your bags. Those orders will be shipping in the 4-6week timeframe. Then we will re-open for the first week of the next month. This will allow us to get orders to you faster and maintain the attention to detail that you love so much.

Pre-Loved

We will be starting a new Pre-Loved program starting in January. We are ironing out the final details but the gist of it is: If you have a bag from us that is gathering dust you can send it in for a percentage off your next bag. We'll give the bag an inspection, do any necessary repairs/rejuvenation, and find it a new home. We want to keep our bags in rotation for as long as possible and now you have a way to help us. We would also love to hear any story you have with your bag. Did you get it for a special occasion? Did you bag travel with you on a European getaway? Was it your everyday bag? Once finalized we'll be adding a blog post, email, and of course sharing it on social media.

Bags: New Designs

We have decided to add a new color to our lineup; along with a few design updates to current designs. You can expect 2 wallets and 1 or 2 crossbody style bags for Spring 2023. That means we will have to consider which designs to discontinue from our collection. So voice your opinion for your favorite or least favorite bag.

Scraps/Digital Patterns

Scraps will return in January. They are usually 5-7lbs and perfect for small projects and help us use the entire side of leather. Also, keep your eye out for more digital patterns in the new year. Thank you for helping us reduce waste.

Hats

Big decisions on our hat line will be coming up in the new year.

I know that was a lot to take in. We're pretty excited for 2023. Thanks for sharing our journey, and being there for all our crazy experiments. Thank you for supporting USA made goods and our small family. We’re so grateful we get to make bags for you.

We hope you enjoy your Yuletide Festivities and have a Happy New Year!

With Gratitude,

Leanne + Nick
